Does anybody remember Ms. Kempa? She taught typing out in one of the temporary buildings on the east side of the school.

I think Mark Seckington declared that she was our "Typing Coach" so we called her Coach Kempa. I'm not sure if she ever got the joke or appreciated our sense of humor. We had a lot of laughs in that class. Anybody else remember taking that class ??

Ohhh gosh -- good thing there is a statute of limitations ---- I hate to think of the money we jipped the Twin out of by taking my 69 Ford truck in with everyone under the blankets and sleeping bags in the back...

I had SPEED READING with her @ 6AM ---- Remember how she came in every day and plugged the little coffee pot in to heat water??? She never made coffee -- just put her hands on it to get her circulation going ....

6 AM was way too early for SPEED READING!!!!

Mike Lassiter and I would hum Christmas songs w/o moving our lips while pretending to read.... When she would question "who was that", and would single one of us out... the other would pick up the volume .... We never got busted on that....

I had a 1965 Chevrolet Bel-AIr 4 door tank, and I could fit 5 guys in the trunk. I pulled in, just me and my cooler in the back seat at the North TWIN and the Riverside Drive-ins on several occasions. I often wondered if they saw me leave with a carload of people? Remember back then we got 3 movies on each side? I too am fuzzy on most of the details of the movies. But to this day my most favorite movies are (in no particular order)-Blazing Saddles, The Blues Brothers, Kelly's Heroes, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, AND everything that Johnny Depp is in.

How could I forget 'The Exorcist"...........just plain scary, even if you'd read the book before seeing the movie. My date and I saw it at midnight and he was too freaked to go home after that. We just sat at Denny's in NKC and drank coffee.

I remember seeing the Exorcist down at the Plaza Theatre, scared the hell out of me...At the time, hadn't seen anything that scary. I always liked the scary movies that mess with your mind, more than just the gore factor that we have today...Omen comes to mind also...good scary stuff...
Liked Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, can't go wrong with the "Newman & Redford combo, they were good in " The Sting" too...

Liked Paul Newman in " Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean" also...Saw that at the "Famous" North Twin Drive Inn, one of the few I actually watched at the Drive Inn...hehe
Another good movie I liked from this era was " Magic" with a very young Anthony Hopkins and Ann Margrett (always had a crush on her too..)

This is the one with the mannequin doll, remember it? very scary too...
Another movie I remember is called "The Reincarnation of Peter Proud" a good movie of a man recalling a past life, I've looked for it, but can't find it in any of the rentals...Great surprise ending....

On the comedy side, Loved Peter Sellers..."A Shot in the Dark" followed by the Pink Panther series, but the best ones are the earlier ones...

Oh the Exorcist scared the holy crap out of me. Everytime I got a pimple, I thought I was becoming possessed. Remember in the movie how her face started breaking out first?? I didn't get good sleep for a week. Now I watch it and I think, 'What the ????? was so scary about it?'

Anyone remember Mrs. Wooton the english teacher with that huge bunch of keys that hung on her hip. I used to think that when she died, they'd bury her with her desk. Or sitting at it frowinng at everyone one last time. lol You could hear her coming before you actually saw her.

Yep, I remember Her, she sent me to the office three times in one day, because Glen Mize was sitting in my "assigned seat" so I sat in the seat behind him...When I got to the office, Valine wasn't there so the secretaries sent me back to class...She didn't believe me, sent me again, Saw Valine, but He just rolled his eyes, then forgot to sign my office visit slip...So she didn't believe I went, again...So sent me back the third time...Got it signed, returned, Glen was still in my seat, she told me to just sit anywhere...lol

Still trying to figure out exactly what I did wrong in the first place ! lol. btw...by the time I went to lunch, my Mom, who worked in the cafeteria, had heard all about me getting sent to the office....Thanks to some of my faithful friends for "ratting me out" ...lol

I had to sit in my 'assigned' seat which was exactly in front of her desk so she could glare at me. *rolling eyes* Sheesh, that woman. One day I came to school and she says in a nonchalant tone, 'Oh Donna, you're alive. I'd read you'd died in a car accident last night.' She said it as if we were talking about the weather. Not anything like, 'Oh thank God, you're alive!' or anything like that. I know my face was blank and my mouth was gaping open as I walked dazed to my seat wondering what in the world was wrong with her?????? Maybe the weight of all those keys was affecting her??? Go figure.... I remember feeling like I should apologize or something that it wasn't me....

I remember Mr. Mack. He was one of my favorite teachers. I had him for freshman and sophmore years in band. He had such compassion for music. Two weeks before the start of our freshman year my dad passed away. When we started and he found out about it, he took me aside and told me if I needed to talk about anything he was there. Even if it didn't involve music he would listen. Years after that he would still come to me to see if things were going ok. He was a good man as well as a teacher.

But when she dressed up she had some gorgeous athletic legs, especially in heels! Wow. I wouldn't have noticed but my husband used to bring it up a lot. To which he usually got an elbow in the gut.

Hey, you're picking on me! But yes, I tend to travel with a corkscrew.........

I love cooking and entertaining. I enjoy travel for pleasure but all the travel for business tends to take away from that. I would like to get back into photography with the new digital SLR's as I was still using 35mm film.

I am an avid reader and have passed that along to my daughters. I am enjoying decorating my home (again....)and watch too much HGTV.

I am learning about wine by attending a weekly wine tasting at my local liquor store. Then I pair it with food and invite my friends over to be my lab rats. So far no one has become ill..........

I like wine but I like the frozen drinks better. I'd have to travel with a blender! LOL You know that Garth Brooks song about Two Pina Colada's one for each hand? Yeah that sounds good. That's about all it would take too, to cause unconsciousness....

Whatever happened to the good old days when I could 'drink someone under the table' as they used to say???

I got tired of 'paying' for it the next three days....

I travel in the 'flip the top" set. No need for a corkscrew! I think that planning something for all three days of a weekend would be great for the out of town group. I am glad we are having a reunion. I really enjoy the discussions on here. Keep it going.

I am not far behind, kids are 28, 26 and 22. One Grandson age 11 months and second one due Jan 2010. Grandkids are way more fun. You spoil them and then send them back to their parents.

I have done alot of traveling with 24 years in the Air Force. Basically been around the world. Lived in Europe and Southwest Asia for 10 years. I still love Italy the best but Germany is a close second. Best Ski resort is Zermatt, Switzerland - no cars aloowed within 15 miles. Electric train into town and then golf carts in town. You ski on the Matterhorn mountain. You buy a two country ski pass. Have breakfast in Switzerland and then ski in Italy after lunch. Dinner in Italy and then ski back to Zermatt.

Best place I liver was Hahn, Germany. Located 20kms south of Koblenz (which is where the Rhine and Mousel rivers meet. We could roll down hill to both rivers and do all the wine festivals in every small village along both rivers. We use to take the kids for a long Saturday trip - We would drive to Luxembourg and have breakfast at Patton's cafe, vist Gen Patton's grave, then have lunch in Belgium and visit the Battle of the Bulge museum, and then have dinner somewhere in eastern France and still have time to get home for bedtime in Germany.
