I recall David passed away during the summer before our Junior year. David and I used to attend swim workouts that Coach Franks held that summer at a pool located in one of the new housing developments. We became good friends that summer and his passing hit me pretty hard. Seems that he was in a motor vehicle accident near the downtown airport. His sister, Janet, continued to support the swim team by being the manager that following year.
I still think of David fondly. In junior high school he was always trying to get a rise out of me, sometimes with "fake vomit" and shining a mirrow in my eye during my speech in speech class. People were laughing but the teacher couldn't see him! I would have liked to have seen David grow old with the rest of us.

David died of fatal injuries in an automobile accident in June of 1972.
