JOHN T. SCHOTT (JACK) II 1955 - 2009 John T. (Jack) Schott, 54, Plattsburg, MO, passed away unexpectedly, December 10, 2009, at the University of Kansas Hospital. He was born December 7, 1955, in Kansas City, MO, to John T. and Lois A. (Rice) Schott. His father preceded him in death on November 9, 2009. He was a 1974 graduate of Park Hill High School and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Park College in 1977 where he earned a BA in Business Economics. Jack began working for Platte County Cable Company in 1977, which his father founded in the late 1960s. In 1983 he started a Satellite Sales Co. in Smithville, MO, and 1987 he started Premier Home Theatre in Smithville. In 1993 Jack became a Farmers Insurance agent and owned Schott Insurance Agency in Platte Woods. He also sold and invested in Real Estate and worked in Property Management. Jack was very proud to have been self-employed every day since college. He was a member of the Parkville Rotary Club and was proud to be a Paul Harris Fellow award recipient. He served as President of the Par IV Home Owners Association. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing table games, poker, target shooting, and had a passion for writing. He married Barbara A. Floyd on April 29, 1983, in Kansas City. She survives of the home. Additional survivors include his mother, Lois of Parkville; two children, Christopher Michael Schott and wife Jenny of Kansas City and John T. (J.T.) Schott III, of the home. A sister, Debra L. Schott of Laguna Beach, CA; two grandchildren, Nicholas and Justin Schott. A memorial service celebrating Jack's life will be held 7 p.m. December 17 at the Platte Woods Church with Rev. Steve Breon and Ginger Pudenz officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 Thursday at the church. Memorial contributions are suggested to the John T.
