Lisa Pope passed away Thursday, March 31, 2011.

Longtime Platte County Assessor Lisa Pope died today after a bout with cancer.

Pope, a native of Platte County, was elected assessor in 2004. Before that, she was the county’s chief deputy assessor for 14 years.

“This is great sadness that we have lost a longtime Platte County resident and a Platte County assessor,” said County Commissioner Kathy Dusenbery. “She put up a brave fight with her battle against cancer and she always worked hard to serve the citizens of Platte County.”
