The weekends and the summer nights at the North Twin Drive-in. Many good (but fuzzy) memories there.

I remember going to the North Twin and also the Riverside next to Red X. I don't remember watching too many movies tho.

I had a 1965 Chevrolet Bel-AIr 4 door tank, and I could fit 5 guys in the trunk. I pulled in, just me and my cooler in the back seat at the North TWIN and the Riverside Drive-ins on several occasions. I often wondered if they saw me leave with a carload of people? Remember back then we got 3 movies on each side? I too am fuzzy on most of the details of the movies. But to this day my most favorite movies are (in no particular order)-Blazing Saddles, The Blues Brothers, Kelly's Heroes, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, AND everything that Johnny Depp is in.

How could I forget 'The Exorcist"...........just plain scary, even if you'd read the book before seeing the movie. My date and I saw it at midnight and he was too freaked to go home after that. We just sat at Denny's in NKC and drank coffee.

I remember seeing the Exorcist down at the Plaza Theatre, scared the hell out of me...At the time, hadn't seen anything that scary. I always liked the scary movies that mess with your mind, more than just the gore factor that we have today...Omen comes to mind also...good scary stuff...
Liked Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, can't go wrong with the "Newman & Redford combo, they were good in " The Sting" too... Liked Paul Newman in " Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean" also...Saw that at the "Famous" North Twin Drive Inn, one of the few I actually watched at the Drive Inn...hehe Another good movie I liked from this era was " Magic" with a very young Anthony Hopkins and Ann Margrett (always had a crush on her too..) This is the one with the mannequin doll, remember it? very scary too... Another movie I remember is called "The Reincarnation of Peter Proud" a good movie of a man recalling a past life, I've looked for it, but can't find it in any of the rentals...Great surprise ending.... On the comedy side, Loved Peter Sellers..."A Shot in the Dark" followed by the Pink Panther series, but the best ones are the earlier ones... Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein..Mel Brooks movies-very funny Oh the Exorcist scared the holy crap out of me. Everytime I got a pimple, I thought I was becoming possessed. Remember in the movie how her face started breaking out first?? I didn't get good sleep for a week. Now I watch it and I think, 'What the ????? was so scary about it?'

Those were some fun times though!!!!! |
